While we in the US are used to seeing updates on the war in Afghanistan on the evening news and are urged constantly to support our troops, the same is not true in Germany. German soldiers come home to find a population that is not in favor of German participation in Afghanistan and are at most, not interested in the wwar.
We hear often about the difficulties facing American troops returning home, but this lack of support and understanding presents issues for the German soldier as well.
